How it works
When you order your Hosted PBX service you will automatically be provided with a DID (Direct In Dial) number from a geographic region of your choice. You will also receive details for your internal 'extension' which will allow you connect a regular handset or a software based telephone program (soft-phone) to one of our voice switches which are located on the Internet. Once you have configured your handset or soft-phone to register with our voice switch you will then be able to make and receive calls on your DID number, place calls on hold and even transfer the call to your mobile if you need to keep talking while you run to the post office or bank. All that is required to use the system is a standard broadband Internet connection. The calls that you make all travel over the Internet and are then handed on to the PSTN (regular telephone network) via our voice switch.
Once you have the basic system running, you can then add extra 'extensions' so that you can make and receive calls on multiple handsets or soft-phones. This will allow you to make free internal calls between your extensions and also transfer calls to another handset. If you add a call queue to your system you can even play a welcome message to callers and have them hold the line until one of your staff are free to take their call.
